Hello there!


The name pinkshirtsandcarwrecks was established in my English major days before the blog, and came from a poem I wrote about a meandering conversation that included everything "from pink shirts to car wrecks."

I grew up on a farm but now live in the city, in a little house near the creek with my partner-in-crime (and two cat friends). I do custom projects, work a little retail, decorate weddings, arrange flowers, am a professional scavenger, maker and finder in beautiful Minneapolis, MN.

I'm a fan of vintage through and through. From decorating my home with vintage furniture and found objects to archiving and appreciating pieces of the past, I've always been a passionate collector. Often the things that catch my eye have a story to tell with great details, are crafted with quality materials, have a particular sense of workmanship or especially lovely packaging. 

I pay particular attention to the context of vintage and am always delighted to dive into an object's history. There is something wonderful about keeping the past alive and relevant in today's modern world. I'm happy to play a role in pairing vintage pieces with people who value something that could so easily be forgotten (though it's hard to see why).
